Six people injured in night attack in Odesa region

On the night of December 31, Russians attacked the residential, logistics, and energy infrastructure of Odesa region.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.
As a result of the attacks, one of the residential buildings caught fire in apartments from the second to the sixth floors. The facade on the fifth and sixth floors was partially destroyed. Firefighters rescued eight people, including one child. Mobile resilience centers from the State Emergency Service and the city council have been deployed.
According to preliminary information, six people were injured, including three children. The facades and glazing of several multi-storey residential buildings were also damaged. Civilian cars were damaged by the fire. The State Emergency Service involved 24 vehicles and 83 firefighters. The Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine sent one piece of equipment and four personnel.
On the night of December 31, Russians attacked Ukraine with 127 Shahed, Gerber and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles. According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense defenses neutralized 101 enemy Shahed, Gerber and other types of drones in the north, south and east of the country. There were 20 strike UAVs at 11 locations.
On the morning of December 30, Russia again attacked Odesa region with attack drones. Despite the active work of air defense forces, damage to industrial and port infrastructure in the Odesa region was recorded. A civilian vessel in the port area was damaged. There were no fires. There were no reports of deaths or injuries.
Earlier, a fire broke out in the Pivdennyi port as a result of the Russian army's strike on Odesa region, setting about 30 containers of flour and vegetable oil on fire.
The Odesa coast suffered large-scale pollution due to a sunflower oil spill. After the wind direction changed, the consequences of the attack on Pivdennyi port reached the Gulf. Otrada and Lanzheron beaches suffered the most, as they were covered with an oily film. Dozens of dead birds were found on the shore, mostly Lesser White-fronted Geese.
