The Department of Science and Education of the Odesa City Council has warned school administrators to refrain from conducting planned city tours with students.
This was reported by the press service of the municipality.
As explained in the department, this step is caused by information about the launch of shaheds and the potential threat of shelling in the middle of the day. The department also appealed to parents to be attentive to the potential danger and make sure that children do not stay in open spaces after school.
"Shaheds are already being launched and we realize that it could be another shelling in the middle of the day. We do not know where it is flying. But we have to be vigilant. If it's during the lessons, it's one thing. If it's after school, children may be on the streets. And this is the most dangerous thing," explained Olena Buynevych, director of the department.
On the night of September 7, as a result of a Russian attack in Odesa, the Sports Palace and residential buildings were damaged. According to the State Emergency Service, three people were injured. A multi-story residential building was damaged by shelling; firefighters extinguished the fire on the top floor. A 9-story residential building was also damaged, where rescuers extinguished the fire on the fourth floor. In addition, a warehouse building and cars caught fire.
On the night of September 7, the enemy launched a combined attack on the territory of Ukraine using attack UAVs and ground-based missiles. In total, during the strike, the Air Force's radio engineering troops detected and escorted 818 air attack vehicles. The air defense managed to shoot down 751 drones and four Iskander-K missiles. However, nine missiles and 56 attack UAVs hit 37 locations and crashed in eight locations.
