Russian Shelling in Kherson: 1 Dead, 18 Injured in Attacks

Yesterday, on February 5, Russian troops shelled 36 settlements in the Kherson region. As a result, one person was killed and 18 others were wounded.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the invaders used artillery, unmanned aerial vehicles and FPV drones to shell residential areas, social infrastructure and private homes.

Antonivka, Zelenivka, Bilozerka, Kizomys, Stanislav, Mykilske, Beryslav, Chervonyi Mayak, Mylove, Havrylivka, Novovorontsovka, Dudchany, Novoraysk, Novooleksandrivka, Shlyakhove, Prydniprovske, and Sadove came under enemy fire, Komyshany, Naddnipryanske, Burgunka, Velytenske, Dniprovske, Ivanivka, Kachkarivka, Kozatske, Lvov, Mykolaivka, Mykhailivka, Molodizhne, Monastyrske, Olgivka, Osokorivka, Sablukivka, Tokarivka, Tomina Balka, Tyahyntsi, and the city of Kherson came under enemy fire.

As a result of the Russian attacks, one person was killed and 18 others were wounded, including 15 civilians and three police officers.

The enemy hit residential areas and social infrastructure. The following were damaged:

  • 18 private houses and one multi-storey building,
  • a gas pipeline,
  • outbuildings,
  • garages,
  • private cars.

According to the prosecutor's office, five wounded civilians were recorded in Kherson.

A local resident was wounded in Havrylivka, Beryslav district, as a result of artillery shelling.

In Antonivka, an enemy drone dropped a munition on a 52-year-old man who died on the spot.

Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Region Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into war crimes (Part 1, Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated.

Prosecutors and investigators continue to document the consequences of the attacks in order to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Recently, the Russian military carried out a drone attack on a church in the Korabel neighborhood of Kherson. The explosion occurred near the entrance to the building, causing significant damage.

According to Bishop Nikodim, the head of the Kherson Diocese of the OCU, windows were smashed in the church, potholes appeared on the walls, and an explosion mark remained on the walkway. Fortunately, no one was injured.

"Some fragments of the exploded drone remained. Now we can say that the church has seen and experienced all variants of "brotherly love" from Russia: occupation, the arrest of the rector with abuse, flooding, artillery shelling, and now drone attacks directly on the church," Nikodym noted.
