Russian security forces threaten Crimean with 7 years in prison for comments on the Internet

A resident of Sevastopol faces up to seven years in prison for his comments published on the Internet.

According to the Russian security forces (FSB), from March 2024 to April 2025, the Sevastopol resident published messages calling for the destruction of the Kerch Bridge, the residence of the Russian President, and for strikes on Crimea. In addition, he is accused of making statements about the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region and 'calls for the murder of Russians'.
Based on these messages, the man is accused under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public justification of terrorism and calls for terrorist activities on the Internet) and part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities on the Internet). It is worth noting that the Russian media published a video filmed by the FSB, where a young man with a bloodied face confirms the version voiced. However, it is difficult to verify the reliability of this testimony, which could have been obtained under pressure, as well as the position of the accused's defense, under the occupation.
In particular, in Russia, the Krasnoyarsk court ruled to return to prison the Crimean Muslim and political prisoner Oleksandr Sizikov. He was recently released from prison for health reasons.
Let us recall that Sizikov was released from prison by the Minusinsk City Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory of the Russian Federation on May 26, 2025, due to illness. A medical examination diagnosed him with a complete loss of vision. This disease is included in the official list of diseases that impede the serving of a sentence.
On May 28, after his release, the blind man was met at the Sochi airport by his lawyer Edem Semedlyayev and his mother. Oleksandr Sizikov is a defendant in the so-called "fourth Bakhchisarai case of Hizb ut-Tahrir". He was born in Simferopol, but later moved to Bakhchisaray district.
