Russian parliament approves new Crimean anthem

The occupiers approved a new anthem of Crimea at an extraordinary state session.

Before voting for the new anthem, the piece was performed in the session hall of the parliament. Its adoption was unanimously supported by 63 deputies from the occupation authorities.
The music for the new anthem of the peninsula was composed by the collaborators Olga Kovitidi, a former Russian senator from Crimea, and Russian poet Ilya Reznik. Their version of the anthem won the competition announced by the State Council of the Republic of Crimea. In total, 122 applications were submitted to the open competition.
The selected work is the winning project, but it is not yet the final version. The parliamentary editorial team will work on the final version over the next two months.
Earlier, the occupiers stated that the current anthem "did not satisfy" the choice of Crimeans, as it "played its historical role, but does not reflect current realities." The new version will be officially presented in September.
Nozdrina, a Crimean collaborator, headed Askania-Nova, which was seized by the occupiers. Olena Nozdrina has extensive experience of cooperation with the occupation authorities. After the annexation of Crimea, she worked in the illegal administration of Simferopol.
The imam from Alushta, convicted by the occupiers, returned home. According to Khalilov's wife Umida Khudoyberdieva, her husband was diagnosed with cancer in the hospital of the colony in Arkhangelsk. Based on this diagnosis, which is included in the list of diseases that prevent detention, the Isakogorsk District Court of Arkhangelsk ruled to release him.
After his release, employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation bought him train tickets and he returned to his family in Crimea.
