Russian Drone Attack in Kherson Sets Apartment on Fire, No Injuries Reported

On the afternoon of March 16, Russian troops attacked Kherson with an attack drone. The enemy drone hit an apartment building, causing an apartment to catch fire.
According to the State Emergency Service in Kherson region, an apartment with a balcony caught fire on the 7th floor, as well as a balcony on the 8th floor.
"Rescuers have extinguished the fire. According to preliminary information, there were no injuries," the statement said.
Before that, the rescuers were called to extinguish a truck that also caught fire from a drone strike.

"This morning, the enemy attacked the village of Bilozerka with an attack drone. As a result of the explosives being dropped, a truck caught fire," the Kherson State Emergency Service said.
Last year, Kherson rescuers extinguished 1587 fires caused by enemy attacks. Earlier, a rescue worker was injured during the shelling of one of Kherson's neighborhoods. He was hospitalized, and the fire was quickly extinguished on the spot. Enemy fire also damaged the building of the fire and rescue unit, but the personnel who were in the shelter were not injured.
Earlier in Kherson, police explosive technician Oleksandr Viter was killed during demining after Russian attacks . Before that, six employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, who were engaged in humanitarian demining in Kherson region, came under targeted fire from Russians and were killed. Two more SES employees, including a female paramedic, were injured.
This year, in February, 13 residents of Kherson were killed by Russian shelling, and another 113 people were injured of varying severity. In January 2025, 16 residents of Kherson were killed in enemy attacks, and another 154 residents were injured.
