Russia's losses in Ukraine exceeded the population of some republics

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as of January 7, 2025, the losses of the Russian Federation since February 22, 2022 exceeded 800 thousand soldiers.
Thus, over the three years of the war, Russia has lost more soldiers in Ukraine than the entire population of some of the federal subjects - republics. For example, the total population of the Republic of Mordovia as of January 1, 2024, according to Wikipedia, was 765,891 people.
That is, in fact, Russia has lost Mordovia, or in total such republics as Khakassia and Kalmykia, to Ukraine.
In total, Russia has 26 districts, regions and republics with a population of less than 800 thousand people. For example, Russia has lost 19 Nenets Autonomous Okrugs or 1.5 Ingushetia to Ukraine. It is also fashionable to compare the losses with the Republic of Tyva, and it turns out that Ukraine has lost 2.7 times more people than the entire population of this republic.
The enemy has also lost:

- 3 thousand 681 units of special equipment.
It is now 1,491 days since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, and the losses suffered by this state during this period have already exceeded all the conflicts in which Russia has participated in the past 30 years.
Thus, the official losses in the two wars in Chechnya amounted to 12,300 soldiers during the 10 years of the second and twenty months of the first "Chechen" war. According to the Union of the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers of Russia, Russia lost a total of 24 thousand soldiers in both wars.
On February 24, 2022, Russia attacked the territory of Ukraine without declaring war. Officially, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special operation against Ukraine. Since then, Ukraine has been under martial law and mobilization has been ongoing.
