Russia attacked Kherson region more than 650 times with drones, seven people were killed

Since the beginning of 2025, Russian troops have carried out about 650 attacks on the Kherson region using drones. As a result of these attacks, seven people were killed and 55 others were injured.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

"Russian occupants do not stop attacking Kherson region with drones," he said.

On January 9, the Russian army carried out massive attacks in Kherson region, shelling 41 settlements in the region. The shelling killed one person and injured 16 others, the JFO reported.

Among the affected settlements are Antonivka, Beryslav, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Neslumne, Sukhanove and more than 30 others. Multi-storey buildings, private houses, gas pipelines, garages, outbuildings and cars were damaged.

On January 8, Roman Matviychuk, the head of one of the neighborhood committees of Kherson's Korabelny district, was killed in Naddnipryanske by a Russian drone attack. The Russian military attacked a car with a drone in which 71-year-old Roman Matviychuk was with the driver.

On January 6, a Russian drone attack on a minibus in Kherson killed Volodymyr Shum, an environmentalist with the city council. Another 9 people were injured. Volodymyr Ivanovych Shum was a specialist in the ecology department of the communal services and improvement department of the municipal economy department of the Kherson City Council.

On January 5, the body of a 48-year-old woman killed by a UAV attack is found near the cemetery in Bilozerka.

On January 1, Russian shelling claimed the life of Pavlo Matviyets, a volunteer with the NGO Strong and Free. He was only 23 years old.

Earlier in Kherson, volunteer Rimma Baranenko was killed. She was among the passengers of a bus on which Russian terrorists dropped explosives from a drone in the morning.‍
