A pro-Russian carrier helped the Russian invaders take children to the temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, he was suspected of aiding the aggressor state (Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the 56-year-old owner of a transportation company operating in the Beryslav district was in the territory controlled by Ukraine during the temporary occupation of the region. However, despite this, in August 2022, he voluntarily agreed to help the occupiers and organized the transportation of a group of children from the Kherson region to the temporarily occupied Yevpatoria.
Subsequently, the children were sent to a so-called "health camp" in Russia, where they were used in propaganda stories in support of the aggressor state.
In September of the same year, the suspect also organized the return of children from Crimea to Beryslav.
Law enforcement officers continue the investigation, establishing all the circumstances of the crime and possible accomplices of the suspect.
Meanwhile, prosecutors from the Prosecutor General's Office have brought a case against two Russian citizens suspected of illegally deporting Ukrainian children to court. The defendants are a member of the State Duma of Russia, a confidant of the leader of the A Just Russia party, and the wife of this politician.
Earlier, Intent wrote that there are about 1.5 million children in the temporarily occupied territories, all of whom are under the threat of deportation.
Also, the lawyer of the Regional Center for Human Rights Kateryna Rashevska said that the re-education of Ukrainian teenagers and youth is very well integrated into the policy of the Russian Federation, and it is carried out by bodies of different levels - federal, regional, occupation and even Ukrainian collaborators
Recently, a program for the return and reintegration of children abducted by Russia, including orphans, was presented in Kherson. This program is being implemented as part of the Presidential initiative Bring Kids Back UA.
