Oil depot burns for fourth day in Crimea after Ukrainian army strike

In occupied Crimea, an oil depot has been burning for four days after a strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. A new video from the scene shows a large-scale fire at the largest fuel terminal on the peninsula.

Eyewitnesses have released a new video of a large-scale fire at an oil depot in Feodosia, in occupied Crimea, as the burning of fuel residues continues for the fourth day. The footage shows a powerful flame and thick puffs of smoke rising above one of the large tanks of the fuel terminal.
This oil depot is the largest in Crimea: its capacity reaches 12 million tons of oil products per year, and it can store up to 250,000 tons of fuel at a time.
On the night of October 5-6, Ukrainian drones conducted a series of strikes on facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea, with the Feodosia oil depot, the largest fuel terminal on the peninsula, suffering the most. The explosions were heard in the areas of Simferopol, Yevpatoria and Feodosia, as well as near the Kacha and Saki military airfields.
The drones hit the tanks of the Feodosia oil terminal, where a large-scale fire broke out: the flames can be seen from 30 kilometers away. Two large fires broke out at the base, and only 22 of 34 tanks remained intact.
The terminal has been attacked by Ukrainian drones several times before - in October 2024, a fire engulfed 12 tanks, 8 of which burned down completely, and damaged buildings on the site. It burned for almost a week.
Due to the situation, the occupiers blocked a section of the Kerch highway that runs next to the oil depot. According to NASA's FIRMS satellite system, the next day the fire spread to the tanks in the northern part of the terminal. The fire forced vacationers and tourists to leave the city. Locals are trying to send their children to relatives and friends to protect them from the thick smoke and burning that has descended on Feodosia.
