The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against a deputy of the Tairova village council, who is accused of justifying Russian aggression against Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office.
In July of this year, the deputy was notified of suspicion of committing a crime against peace, human security and international law and order. In particular, she is accused of disseminating materials justifying, recognizing as legitimate, denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and glorifying its participants, committed by an official.
Since February 24, 2022, after the beginning of Russia's large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, the deputy has professed anti-Ukrainian ideology and constantly looked for ways to assist the enemy. To do this, in 2022-2023, the representative of the village council repeatedly posted messages containing signs of a crime in various hostile Telegram channels, as well as corresponded with her friends about it.
As part of the criminal proceedings, a forensic linguistic examination was conducted, which confirmed the criminal and illegal nature of her texts. If the MP is proven guilty in court, she faces imprisonment for a term of five to eight years with or without confiscation of property.
The SBU military counterintelligence also detained an associate professor at a local university in Odesa on suspicion of collaborating with the Russian federal security service. She was found to have tickets to an EU country from where she was planning to move to the Russian Federation. According to the case file, the 52-year-old associate professor came to the attention of the enemy special service when she called for the seizure of Odesa region on the banned social network VKontakte.
