The Standing Committee on Budget Planning and Finance of the Odesa City Council has supported the request of the Municipal Security Department to amend the city's target program "Safe Odesa for 2020-2025".

According to Oleksiy Potapsky, chairman of the commission, only three of the proposed items were approved at the meeting on March 25.

"There are so many requests that we simply do not have time to consider them all. We need more time. So I think we will need to convene a separate meeting of the committee to consider issues related to assistance to the military," he explained.

The total amount supported by the deputies at the meeting on March 25 was UAH 12 million 40 thousand.

Earlier, the Odesa City Council noted that financial support for the Armed Forces in 2024 (subventions to military units) amounted to UAH 243.6 million from the general fund and UAH 926.7 million from the development budget.

The deputies also approved the allocation of UAH 2 million 80 thousand to the municipal property institution "Motor Transport of the Odesa City Executive Committee". As the chairman of the commission clarified, this money is allocated for salaries to employees, not for cars.

It is worth noting that Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov ordered to convene the city council members for a regular session on April 16. Intent will traditionally broadcast the session online. Meanwhile, preparations for the session are underway. In particular, meetings of permanent deputy commissions are taking place to consider issues that may be submitted to the deputies for consideration at the session, and Intent is monitoring these meetings.

There are 12 standing committees in the Odesa city council, but as of February 22, 2025, the standing committee on culture, tourism and international relations and the standing committee on regulations, deputy ethics and corruption prevention cannot make decisions, as they currently have less than three deputies.
