Russian troops have intensified drone attacks on the access roads to Kherson, including the strategically important Mykolaiv-Kherson highway.
This was reported by Kherson-based journalist Ivan Antypenko.
According to him, during July, drones have been systematically hitting civilian vehicles on different sections of this road. A truck was destroyed, several cars were hit, and burnt vehicles remain on the roadsides. Antypenko suggests that the enemy is trying to take control of the main roads on the right bank, including the Maryanske-Beryslav road and the direction to Snihurivka, which are already partially shelled or controlled. According to Antypenko, this significantly limits civilian activity in the region, which seemed possible in 2023.
The situation is complicated by constant attacks on Kherson and its suburbs. There are no longer areas in the city that are inaccessible to FPV drones. Because of this, farmers are unable to harvest their crops: fields and equipment have been destroyed, and farms have been left without support. The journalist emphasizes that despite the presence of REBs and mobile groups that shoot down drones, basic protection - protective nets, shelters from FPV - has not yet appeared. This makes staying in Kherson more and more dangerous, especially when traveling to and from the city.
During the day of July 23-24, Russian troops shelled at least 41 settlements in Kherson region. Two high-rise buildings, 13 private houses, a truck and a garage were damaged. The attacks killed one person and injured six, including two children.
On the morning of July 24, Russian troops attacked the Dniprovsky district of Kherson with drones. As a result, two men were injured, both hospitalized with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds. At least 39 settlements in Kherson region were shelled on July 24-25, including the city of Kherson. Residential neighborhoods and social infrastructure came under fire, and a multi-storey building and at least 6 private homes were damaged. Six civilians were injured as a result of the shelling.
