Newborns have not been vaccinated against tuberculosis for more than two years in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region.
This was reported by the Yellow Ribbon resistance movement.
BCG vaccination is a standard procedure in Ukraine, which newborns receive in the first hours of life. It is also part of the mandatory vaccination schedule in Russia, but hospitals in the occupied territories of Kherson region are not supplied with the vaccine. The absence of this vaccination increases the risk of children contracting severe forms of tuberculosis.
Kherson hospital initiated the creation of a shelter for the wounded for 38 million. According to the project description, Kherson Regional Clinical Hospital is a key medical institution in the region. Every day, about 50 people receive help here, some of them with severe polytrauma. Between 170 and 200 patients stay in the hospital around the clock. The hospital treats wounded civilians who are brought in after attacks on Kherson and surrounding settlements. The basement is to be adapted for the safe work of medical staff and patients during air raids.
