Together with the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority and with the support of international partners, the Ministry of Development is expanding the network of mobile shelters in the ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. More than 50 mobile protective structures have already been installed. In addition, there are more than 30 stationary shelters in seaports, and their number continues to grow.
This was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
"A separate direction is to strengthen the protection of the ports themselves. This work is carried out daily in cooperation with the military of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, other services and international partners. For security reasons, details are not disclosed. Despite the constant terror and daily combined shelling, Ukrainian ports are working. We are doing everything to protect people, maintain logistics and ensure the stability of maritime exports. This is a matter not only for Ukraine's economy but also for the world's food security," said Oleksiy Kuleba, Minister of Community Development.
Port operators and private companies are actively involved in the installation of shelters, having built dozens of their own protective structures.
Russia has been conducting missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian ports on a daily basis, trying to disrupt logistics routes, complicate exports and undermine global food security. Over the past year, the intensity of attacks on port infrastructure has increased significantly. In 2025, 90 combined attacks were recorded - twice as many as in the same period last year.
Since the beginning of the year, almost 800 air raids have been sounded in Odesa region alone, with a total duration of more than 30 days.
