Mykolaiv athlete Mykyta Kozubenko died in the war

Mykolaiv resident Mykyta Kozubenko, a master of sports of Ukraine in diving and a coach, died at the front.
According to the Sports Committee of Ukraine, when the full-scale invasion began, Mykyta joined the National Guard of Ukraine.
"In the most difficult time for the country, Mykyta took up arms to defend his native land. He served in the National Guard of Ukraine. He was killed at the front. He was 31 years old," the sports committee added.
According to them, Mykyta came to sports at a young age and stayed in it for years.
"He received the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine, worked as a diving coach since 2017, and had the second coaching category. He graduated from Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University in 2018. All this was his real life - studying, sports, training, educating young people," the statement said.
Earlier it became known that a musician and soldier from Odesa, Yuriy Melofon, was killed during a combat mission. He was 39 years old. Yuriy not only served on the front line, but also helped people even in the most difficult moments. From the first days of the full-scale war, he was actively involved in volunteering, including delivering water to Mykolaiv.
Vitaliy Markitan, an assistant director of an Odesa theater, also died at the front. The man was defending Ukraine from the first days of the Russian full-scale invasion.
Earlier, Mykola Kravtsunenko, a deputy of the Izmail City Council of the eighth convocation, was killed in action. He was the commander of an anti-tank platoon. He had experience in military service as part of the border troops on the border with Afghanistan in 1988-90. The soldier came this spring on his first vacation, during which he promised his sons he would return.
On December 5, on Volunteer Day and on the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a new part of the memorial "Wall of Memory" was unveiled in Odesa near the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on Pastera Street.
