Militant who tortured residents during occupation of Kherson region identified

Ukrainian law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to Adil Dunyamala-Ogly Osmanov, a native of Donetsk region, a soldier of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" who tortured residents of Vysokopillia in Kherson region in 2022.
This is stated in the suspicion on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the investigation, Osmanov was a senior rifleman in the 109th Rifle Regiment of the 1st Army Corps. He is accused of unlawful detention of civilians, physical and psychological violence, and extrajudicial repression.
In particular, on April 4, 2022, Osmanov, together with other occupants, detained three residents of the village of Vysokopillya. During the detention, he beat one of them and then shot him dead. Ukrainian law enforcement officers charge Osmanov with high treason committed under martial law. His actions are classified as defection to the enemy and participation in subversive activities aimed at suppressing the Ukrainian government and intimidating the population.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's website reported that three terrorists would be tried for torturing civilians in Kherson region. In March 2022, three servicemen from the "2nd motorized rifle battalion of the 109th rifle regiment of the 1st army corps of the Donetsk People's Republic" tortured local residents in the occupied Kalynivka community in Kherson region.
In one case, a man was forced to open the door under the threat of execution, and then taken to a seized educational institution, where he was held in unsanitary conditions for almost two months. He was constantly tortured: his tattoos were burned off, he was beaten until he lost consciousness, and he was restricted in food, water and access to the toilet. In similar circumstances, the defendants illegally detained other members of the community, subjecting them to physical and psychological violence.
