Lviv and Mykolaiv sent buses to Odesa to replace electric vehicles

Lviv and Mykolaiv have sent buses to Odesa to replace trams and trolleybuses that are out of service due to a power shortage.
This was reported by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi and Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
"Mykolaiv sent five of our buses to Odesa to help with passenger transportation at least partially. Other cities of Ukraine are also joining in the support," wrote Senkevych.
In his turn, Andriy Sadovyi said that after a conversation with Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, he had sent 10 buses to Odesa.
"Lviv residents love Odesa, but words are not enough. I spoke with Vice Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba. The situation there is really difficult. That is why 10 Lviv buses are going to Odesa. They will be there by the end of the day tomorrow. We are helping with transportation during this difficult time," commented Andriy Sadovyi.
In the morning of December 31, the head of Odesa city administration, Serhiy Lysak, said that due to the power shortage, trams and trolleybuses in Odesa are not working yet.
"For many people, this is a serious challenge, especially for those entitled to free use of electric transport. We currently have 22 such categories. Together with the carriers, we are looking for solutions to increase the number of buses on social routes so that people can move around the city without hindrance. In particular, we are working on a mechanism of compensation for entrepreneurs for the transportation of privileged categories," he said.
Meanwhile, on the night of December 31, Russians attacked the residential, logistics and energy infrastructure of Odesa region. As a result of hits in one of the residential buildings, fires broke out in apartments from the second to the sixth floors. The facade on the fifth and sixth floors was partially destroyed. Six people were injured in the attack, including three children. The facades and glazing of several multi-storey residential buildings were also damaged.
