Strengthening security and countering Russian drone attacks were among the issues discussed at the Defense Council on August 1.
Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, deputy head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, spoke on the air of My Ukraine about security measures in the region.
According to him, they plan to block the main artillery roads, access roads and Kherson itself with additional nets.
"We already have plans to close a lot of areas by winter (with anti-drone nets - ed.). We will do everything, and a lot is already being done in Kherson, to close the nets, block the nets and REBs, and reduce the impact of attacks by Russian drones that fly into our territory," said Tolokonnikov.

The Department of Civil Defense and Defense Work of Kherson Regional State Administration has purchased UAH 5.1 million worth of mesh fabric.
Russian troops have intensified drone attacks on access roads to Kherson, particularly on the strategically important Mykolaiv-Kherson highway. According to him, during July, drones systematically hit civilian vehicles on different sections of this road. A truck was destroyed, several cars were hit, and burnt vehicles remain on the roadsides. There are no longer areas in the city that are inaccessible to FPV drones. Because of this, farmers are unable to harvest their crops: fields and equipment have been destroyed, and farms are left without support.
Kherson residents complain most about difficulties with employment, access to healthcare and unfair distribution of humanitarian aid. They are also concerned about the lack of shelters, the effects of flooding and the inaction of the authorities.
