Kherson laborer worked as a guard at the occupiers' torture chamber

The Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson detained a local collaborator who worked for the enemy during the occupation and was involved in the torture of city residents.
This was reported by the SBU.
The suspect was a local handyman who voluntarily joined the ranks of the occupation's 'Department of Corrections' in the summer of 2022. He was appointed a 'junior inspector' in the seized pre-trial detention center in Kherson. Having received weapons and Russian-style uniforms, the offender guarded the cells where Russians took and brutally tortured members of the Resistance Movement.
After the de-occupation of the regional center, the collaborator tried to avoid punishment: he hid in his apartment and hardly left it. However, SBU officers established his whereabouts and detained him.
The offender is currently in custody. He was served a notice of suspicion under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration), which provides for up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
In particular, in Mykolaiv region, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to a 34-year-old resident of Pivdenoukrainsk, who, according to investigators, systematically posted videos on social media justifying Russian aggression against Ukraine.
According to investigators, in March and April, the man posted videos on his TikTok and YouTube pages justifying Russia's armed aggression . According to the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region, during the online broadcasts, the suspect allegedly spread anti-Ukrainian narratives and repeated the theses of Russian propaganda, in particular, that 'Maidan was a coup d'etat and a seizure of power'.
During the searches of the suspect's residence, law enforcement officers seized cell phones and other media. The forensic linguistic examination confirmed the presence of signs of information and subversive activity in the publications.
Currently, the man was served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - justification, recognition as lawful, denial of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine or glorification of its participants. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years with possible confiscation of property.
