Kherson CHP plant shut down due to attacks: houses are without heat supply

As a result of massive attacks by Russian troops in recent days, the Kherson Heat and Power Plant has completely shut down. These attacks on critical infrastructure have left more than 40,000 residents without heating.
This was reported on Facebook on December 4 by the head of the regional military administration , Oleksandr Prokudin.
Prokudin wrote that the shelling by the Russian Federation damaged the premises and equipment of the CHP plant, leaving 470 houses with more than 40,500 residents without heat supply.
According to him, the authorities will consider options for alternative heat supply for the affected homes and are negotiating with partners to provide residents with electric heaters and other heating equipment. At the same time, the head of the regional administration added that the city continues to operate "invincibility points" where residents can keep warm and charge their gadgets.
As a reminder, Kherson has started supplying heat to the main heating networks, as the city's heating companies began operating boiler houses on November 25. This is an important step in the face of constant shelling.
The supply of heat to Kherson's main heating networks began gradually on November 25, and the connection of high-rise buildings will continue according to the technical readiness of the networks. However, according to the head of the Kherson City Military Administration (KMMA), not all buildings will have warm radiators.
Due to the difficult security situation and extensive damage to critical infrastructure, the Korabel district and the coastal parts of the city's Central and Dniprovsky districts will remain without centralized heating this season.
The head of the KHMVA also appealed to the responsible persons of condominium associations to provide maximum assistance to heat supply companies in connecting buildings to the heating medium and monitor the condition of in-building heating systems.
