In Ukrainian captivity, 11 traitors who fought for the occupiers were suspected

The Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office has served notice of suspicion to 11 men who were detained by the Ukrainian military in Donetsk region in August-October 2025. All the suspects are citizens of Ukraine, originally from Donetsk region and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and voluntarily joined the occupation army after the start of the full-scale invasion.
This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation found that among the suspects are those who have been providing armed resistance to the Ukrainian Defense Forces since 2014. In the ranks of the occupation army, the men held various "positions" - from drivers and riflemen to commander and deputy commander.
Their activities included direct participation in battles: they stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, equipped and defended fortifications to deter the offensive of the Ukrainian military in the east, in particular in the Pokrovsk direction. In addition, they guarded military equipment and the locations of Russian troops.
The maximum penalty that the defendants face is life imprisonment with confiscation of property, as well as deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for 15 years. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the SBU Main Directorate in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Earlier, the self-proclaimed "starosta" of the villages of the Kinburn Spit, Serhiy Belyakov, fled Mykolaiv region to the resort of Lazurne in the occupied part of Kherson region. He quarreled with the Russian occupiers and lost their trust.
According to the media, propaganda channels removed stories featuring him, and pro-Russian publics now call him a "crook," "fraudster," and "huckster."
Locals say that after the shelling, his house in Pokrovka was destroyed, so he left the spit. There are almost no civilians left on the Kinburn Spit itself - only a few dozen people live in the villages of Vasylivka and Pokrovka, mostly elderly and sick, who cannot leave due to lack of transportation and documents.
