A well-known farmer and member of the Kherson Regional Council, Oleksandr Hordienko, was killed in a sneak attack by a Russian drone. He had been working in agriculture for more than 30 years and headed the Kherson Farmers Association.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

According to the official, a Russian drone insidiously attacked the car in which Hordienko was working in the field. The enemy took the life of one of the most prominent figures in the region's agricultural community.

Oleksandr Hordiienko was the owner of the Hordiienko farm and a true owner of the land. He stayed in his native Kherson region despite the mining and shelling, continuing to develop agriculture and support his colleagues.

Prokudin emphasized that his colleagues and friends called him an example of dedication to the land and people, and his name will forever remain in the history of the agricultural movement in the Kherson region.

A colleague of the deceased, farmer Ihor Yosypenko, noted that Hordienko was not just a farmer from Beryslav.

"His name will forever remain in the history of the agrarian movement in Kherson region," Yosypenko said.

The farmer added that the deceased was a true owner of the land, a man who lived his life by his work. "A true Ukrainian peasant, a son of his country, devoted to his land and people until his last breath.

Recently, Valentyna Ivanovna Tykhosha, a PhD in Pedagogy and Associate Professor of the Ukrainian Language Department at Kherson State University, died in occupied Oleshky. The rector of the university emphasized that the war took the life of a teacher who remained devoted to Ukraine all her life.
