In Crimea, occupants dismantle Ukrainian ship for spare parts

The captured Ukrainian large amphibious assault ship (LAS) Konstantin Olshansky is being used by the Russians as a "donor" for their ships.
According to theATES resistance movement, during the reconnaissance of Yuzhnaya Bay in occupied Sevastopol, agents spotted the BLC and support vessels of the 205th detachment of the logistics center of the Black Sea Fleet.
"According to our sources, equipment is regularly removed from the BDC, trying to support the occupiers' fleet, which is falling apart," the guerrillas report.

This fact may indicate the dire technical condition of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. In the face of sanctions, Ukrainian armed forces strikes and destroyed logistics, the Russians are no longer able to provide full repair or replacement of ships.
"The use of decommissioned ships as spare parts warehouses has become a forced norm, and the Olshansky is just one example," ATES notes.
"Konstantin Olshansky is a multi-deck, flat-bottomed ocean-going amphibious assault ship with a half-tank and a developed aft superstructure. The Russians seized it in 2014, and in March 2024, the Ukrainian Navy struck the BDC with a Neptune missile, completely disabling the ship and preventing the occupiers from using it in combat.
In addition, according to the guerrillas, a floating workshop "PM-138" and a hospital ship "Yenisei" belonging to the auxiliary fleet of the Black Sea Fleet were spotted in the bay. These targets are already under surveillance and will play a role in future strikes.
Earlier, the ATES guerrillas exposed where Russians are hiding their ships from attacks by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Sevastopol. One of the warships was based near the Vtorchormet pier in Inkerman, which is usually used to store decommissioned ships waiting to be scrapped. In addition, the Albatross, a small anti-submarine ship of the 1124 M project, was also there.
