Guerrillas expose preparations to restore secret submarine base in Crimea

In Crimea, guerrillas recorded suspicious activity near the former underground submarine base in Balaklava. The entrance to the facility is open, the territory has been cleared - probably, the base is being prepared for reuse.
This was reported by the Atesh Resistance Movement.
The resistance agents conducted reconnaissance in the area of Balaklava Bay in the temporarily occupied Crimea and recorded suspicious activity near the former military facility - the Soviet underground submarine base known as the 825th GTS facility.
After the demolition of abandoned buildings in the coastal zone, a direct view of the entrance to the adit, which was used in Soviet times to load and unload torpedoes and missiles, opened up. It was recorded that the entrance to the complex is now free, the area around it has been cleared and the barriers removed. According to agents, this may indicate preparations for the reuse of the facility.

During the surveillance, the underground also noted the absence of guards at the entrance (which may be an element of disguise), and signs of activity in some of the surrounding buildings - some of the premises are likely to be mothballed, but not completely abandoned.
According to members of the resistance movement, the facility could be used as a sheltered ammunition depot, a base for the rapid deployment of maritime drones, or as a protected command post for the Russian military.
The resistance movement continues to monitor and collect data in the area.
On the night of June 28, Ukrainian drones attacked the Kirovske military airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The strike targeted aircraft locations, ammunition depots, air defense systems, as well as Russian reconnaissance and attack drones.
According to preliminary data, the attack destroyed multi-purpose and attack helicopters Mi-8, Mi-26, Mi-28, as well as the Pantsyr-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system.
Last August, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian S-400 air defense system and a submarine in Crimea. The Rostov-on-Don submarine was hit in the port of Sevastopol and sank on the spot after being hit.
It is one of four Kilo-class boats capable of launching Kalibr missiles. The vessel was already damaged in September 2023, and its cost is estimated at $300 million.
