A former journalist from Kherson was accused of collaborating with the Russian occupiers and propaganda. The case against him was sent to court.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, in 2022, the man agreed to cooperate with the enemy and headed the so-called "joint editorial board" of the occupation newspaper Naddnepryanska Pravda.
He also managed the publication of five other local publications controlled by the occupation authorities.
The journalist registered this editorial office under Russian law and recruited staff to work in it. The publications published materials denying Russia's aggression against Ukraine and justifying the occupation. In addition, the defendant appeared in a propaganda video in which he called on residents of the occupied territories of Kherson region to participate in the illegal presidential elections in Russia. He is charged with collaboration and justifying Russian aggression.
The prosecutor's office does not name the journalist, but recently the Prosecutor General's website published information about the announcement of suspicion to Yevhen Bilyi for cooperation with the occupiers. Intent has already written about this.
Meanwhile, an employee of a utility company in Kherson will be tried for distributing Russian newspapers, who in the summer of 2022 received the Naddnepryanska Pravda and Komsomolska Pravda newspapers from the occupation administration and distributed them among her employees.
Another local resident will also be tried for distributing anti-Ukrainian newspapers in Kherson. The woman distributed hostile literature in crowded places, such as markets, wholesale bases, etc. From June to September 2022, she distributed the newspaper Naddnepryanska Pravda, which was published by the so-called "military-civilian administration" of Kherson region. The publication justified Russia's armed aggression, denied the occupation of Ukrainian territories, and called for changes in state borders.
