Exhibition of attacked Odesa presented at an exhibition in Rome

A photo exhibition with the consequences of the Russian shelling of Odesa will be held these days in Rome, Italy.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Italy.
Numerous photos show the consequences of the destruction of Odesa after the attack on July 23, 2023. The exhibition is part of the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine (URC2025), which will be held in Rome from July 10 to 11.
The photographs show, among other cultural heritage sites, the photos of the Odesa Transfiguration Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) destroyed by Russians.
The exhibition is titled "Behind the Lens: Culture Under Attack", which translates to "Behind the Lens: Culture Under Attack". At that time, the House of Scientists, Zhvanetsky Boulevard, residential buildings, and port infrastructure were also damaged.
An enemy missile partially destroyed the cathedral, hitting the central altar. The ceilings of the three lower floors were also damaged, the interior decoration and icons were damaged, and the service rooms of the lower part of the cathedral were completely destroyed.
"The exhibition records the loss of cultural heritage - the Odesa Cathedral, which was restored by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, which will continue its work on the cultural heritage of the historic city center," the ministry wrote.
6,000 works of Ukrainian photojournalists became the basis for recording this crime. The ministry also emphasizes that this project honors the contribution of journalists who continue to document the war and protect collective memory.
