Enemy attacks Kherson region with drones and artillery

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops shelled 37 localities in Kherson region, injuring five people.
This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Oleksandr Prokudin .
Both social infrastructure and residential areas came under attack. The explosions and shelling damaged a multi-story building, 13 private houses, a cell tower, a gas station, cars and an outbuilding. On August 9-10, two people were killed and seventeen others were wounded by enemy fire in Kherson region. A multi-storey building, eight private houses, a bus and a car were damaged. According to the JFO, the aggressor fired at thirty-four settlements in the region.
A lieutenant colonel of the Russian army was sentenced to life imprisonment for the shelling of Kherson, which killed civilians and injured dozens. The court found that the shelling was aimed at civilian objects that had no military significance. The Kherson City Court found Russian Armed Forces Lieutenant Colonel Dmytro Zharkikh guilty in absentia of violating the laws and customs of war and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
In 2022, Zharkikh served as the commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment of the Coastal Defense of the 22nd Army Corps of the Black Sea Fleet, which was based in the temporarily occupied Crimea. On December 24, while on the left bank of the Kherson region, he ordered to shell the liberated Kherson with Grad multiple rocket launchers. The shells hit civilian infrastructure in the city center, including hospitals, residential buildings, a market, a bank, grocery stores, a humanitarian aid distribution center, and a parking lot. The attack killed 13 civilians and injured 60 others. None of these objects were related to military targets.
