Electricity tariffs in occupied Kherson region raised by 50 percent

Rashists have raised electricity tariffs for residents of the occupied territories of Kherson and other regions. At the same time, living conditions in these territories remain critical: destroyed infrastructure, power outages and water shortages.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Starting October 1, 2026, Russia is raising electricity tariffs for residents of the occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions by 30-50%. This is significantly higher than the level of tariffs in most Russian regions.
During the occupation, the Kremlin artificially kept utility tariffs low, using them as a propaganda tool to create the impression of "comfortable life under Russia." Such benefits were supposed to show the occupation authorities' "care" for the population.
Now Russia is gradually abandoning these benefits due to the growing budget deficit and the need to finance the war. Tariffs for the temporarily occupied territories are being raised to the level of all-Russian tariffs or even higher.
At the same time, living conditions in the TOT remain difficult: destroyed infrastructure, constant power outages, and water shortages. Thus, residents of the occupied territories are forced to pay "like in Moscow," although basic services are not provided.
Fuel restrictions were also introduced in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. The occupation authorities are planning to use a scheme already familiar to Crimean residents: coupons at gas stations, hours-long queues, and limiting the amount of fuel to several dozen liters per car. Despite the loud statements of the balance sheet gauleiter about "stability" in the temporarily occupied Kherson region, local residents are being prepared for new strict restrictions, including the sale of fuel "to one person".
In addition, medicines with almost expired shelf life are being brought to the TOT of Kherson region. The population is actually forced to use drugs that will soon become unusable.
