The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has reported a successful operation in Stavropol, which resulted in the elimination of at least three Russian paratroopers.

This was reported by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine on Telegram.

According to the DIU, the operation took place on the evening of October 22 near the checkpoint of military unit No. 54801 in the center of Stavropol. The eliminated servicemen belonged to the 247th Caucasian Cossack Regiment of the Russian Airborne Troops.

The operation was carried out with the support of the Caucasus Liberation Movement.

The intelligence noted that the soldiers and officers of this regiment have been actively involved in hostilities in Ukraine since 2014 and "distinguished themselves" by war crimes during the full-scale invasion of Russia.

Earlier, Intent wrote that the World Hand-to-Hand Fighting Championship was held in the Polish city of Birun. Ukraine was represented at the competition by Andriy Savenko, an officer of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. He won the first place in the category of up to 80 kg (demonstration of technique) and became the world champion in his discipline.

The competition brought together athletes from 14 countries, including England, Uzbekistan, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Denmark and the Czech Republic.

Savenko has a number of sporting achievements: he is a world champion in military combat and a winner of the World Cup in jiu-jitsu. Earlier this year, in March, he won the Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Fighting Championship in memory of Hero of Ukraine Maksym Shapoval, and then joined the Ukrainian national team.

In addition to his sporting and military achievements, the officer actively promotes patriotic education of young people: since 2015, he has been organizing annual sports tournaments in honor of fallen Ukrainian Heroes. Also, Ukrainian athlete Mykola Hryhoriak won the World Championship in hand-to-hand combat in the "full contact" section, dedicating his victory to the military intelligence officers of Ukraine.
