Crimean political prisoner Senezhuk was transferred to Buryatia

The occupation court sentenced political prisoner Oksana Senezhuk to 15 years in prison, accusing her of 'high treason'. She is currently being transferred to the women's colony No. 7 in Ulan-Ude.
Her daughter Maria Kostyuk told ZMINA about this.
Oksana's daughter, Maria, emphasizes that her mother was sent so far from home, while she asked to be left in a colony closer to Crimea. This request was due to the need to care for her 87-year-old mother, but the occupation authorities refused.
The real reason for the woman's imprisonment, according to ZMINA, was her pro-Ukrainian views and condemnation of Russian aggression. Prior to the occupation of Crimea, Senedzhuk worked at the Department of Internal Policy of the Sevastopol City Administration and the Research Institute. She was an active participant in the Orange Revolution and Euromaidan, which led to constant persecution by the FSB after the annexation of the peninsula.
In 2023, the persecution intensified, and on August 14, 2024, Senedzhuk was detained at her workplace. Soon after, she was placed in SIZO No. 1 in Simferopol. On December 26, 2024, the 58-year-old woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison. After the verdict was announced, 15 Ukrainian human rights organizations issued a joint statement condemning the politically motivated persecution of Senedzhuk and demanding her immediate release.
Crimean political prisoner Shikhametov lost 30 kg of weight and lost the ability to walk. Now the health of the Crimean Tatar has deteriorated significantly. In addition to weight loss, he has been diagnosed with an enlarged liver, kidney stones, high blood pressure, suspected diabetes, and destroyed intervertebral discs and joints. Because of this, he is in severe pain and takes painkillers that his family passes on to him.
''I cover a distance of 50 meters in two and a half hours. After walking, everything hurts a lot, I have to take painkillers,'' Shikhametov said.
Currently, the colony administration is deciding on the issue of hospitalization and disability. However, according to Shikhametov, the documents were supposed to be prepared in Saratov, but the doctors did not have time to do it because of the transfer.
