The Chornomorsk City Court of Odesa Oblast found a local resident guilty of hooliganism and inflicting light bodily harm during a conflict with representatives of the territorial center for recruitment and social support.
As stated in the case file, the incident occurred on November 23, 2024, when the TSC employees stopped the man to check his documents, he refused and a conflict ensued, during which he sprayed gas from a canister into the soldier's face.
After that, he smashed the windows and windshield of the TCC and JV employees' car with a hammer and was stopped only by the police. At the trial, the man did not admit his guilt and said that he was driving home from his dacha that day. Before that, his mother called him and told him that he had to buy food at the market. After making the purchase, he went to take it home. On the street, a car pulled up to him and a guy got out and asked him for his data. He replied that his data was in the TCC and went on. However, the car blocked his way, when he wanted to go around it, the guy grabbed him by his clothes, then he pulled out a gas canister, but did not intend to use it.
The guy started to dodge. At that time, the second man grabbed him and pushed him into the car. In the car, they started hitting him on the head and face. He did not see who was hitting him, as he was wearing a hooded jacket with a hood over his head.
Given that he was carrying a backpack and a bag of food, he had no way to resist. He was bleeding when they let him go, he walked away from the car and was already angry. He had tools in his bag, including a hammer, and when he returned to the car, he hit the windshield and the driver's window with the hammer, and the door behind the driver was still open. The guys began to take the hammer away and only at that time he used a spray can and sprayed one of them in the face.
Then the police arrived, and when they let him go, he went to the hospital where the beating was recorded. He noted that all his data was updated in the TCC, he was deregistered due to a concussion, and he did not have any documents with him, as they had already been taken away from him once. He believes that this happened because of the illegal actions of the MCC staff.
In the end, the man was sentenced to a fine of UAH 850 and probationary supervision for one year.
