A group of unidentified people interfered in the process of detaining a man in Odesa, and he escaped from the staff of the territorial center for recruitment and social support.
This was reported by the press service of the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support.
According to the regional TCC, a joint warning group consisting of representatives of the TCC and the National Police was conducting planned activities to alert the population in Odesa. The citizen who was stopped by the officials did not have any identification documents with him. Instead, he verbally provided personal data that was not found in the unified state register "Oberih". This indicated a deliberate attempt to mislead officials and conceal his true identity.
Given the lack of documents and the provision of false information, representatives of the National Police, together with the military, made a lawful decision to administratively detain the citizen for his identification and delivery to the TCC and the JIT. The man reacted aggressively to this request, using foul language and physically resisting. Then a group of passers-by intervened. Not understanding the legal grounds for the detention and the context of the situation, namely the fact that he had no documents and provided false information, the unauthorized persons physically obstructed the lawful actions of law enforcement officers and the military. As a result of their illegal actions, the offender left the scene.
"All the actions of the participants in the incident were fully recorded on the body cameras of the military. The materials containing objective evidence of the circumstances of the incident and illegal actions will be transferred to the competent law enforcement agencies for a comprehensive check, identification of the fugitive and legal assessment of the actions of all involved," the regional TCC said.
A serviceman of the territorial center for recruitment and social support pulled out a traumatic pistol during a dispute with a civilian on the street, but held back and did not shoot.
