Two residents of the region, who held senior positions in the occupation authorities in Kherson region, are suspected
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Skadovsk District Prosecutor's Offices, two residents of the region were served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Thus, according to the investigation, the suspects made a deal with the enemy and headed illegal authorities. In August 2022, a 53-year-old resident of Skadovsk district became the so-called "head of the Novosofiyivka settlement of the Holoprystan municipal district". In July 2023, a 38-year-old resident of the Kherson district became the so-called "head of the territorial administration of the village of Shchaslyve of the Oleshky municipal district".
It is noted that in her position, one of the suspects ensured cooperation with representatives of the authorities and armed forces of the aggressor country, recruited personnel to work in the illegal body, and provided payments in rubles. Another organized the work of the "department", including logistical and financial support. She personally campaigned and facilitated the issuance of Russian passports to local residents. She also resettled Russian soldiers in the homes of community members who had moved to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.
