Two residents of the Kherson region who held senior positions in the Kherson Railroad created by the occupiers will be tried.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The post says that prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office sent indictments to court against two residents of the region on the fact of voluntarily holding positions in an illegal law enforcement agency (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the accused, aged 33 and 48, in July 2022 voluntarily took up the positions of the so-called "first deputy chief" and "deputy chief" in the illegal paramilitary formation - the Kherson paramilitary guard detachment. The unit operated as part of the occupation "State Unitary Enterprise Kherson Railway". In their pseudo-posts, the men led subordinate formations, including personnel. One of them organized the protection of goods, cargo and railway transport facilities, controlled the storage and use of weapons and ammunition, and provided the unit with small arms. The other was in charge of the personnel of the fire and technical unit and fire train managers. He organized work on fire safety, monitored the combat readiness of special vehicles and equipment, and ensured their constant maintenance, repair and storage. He was responsible for measures to improve the combat readiness of the units.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that a local resident, who was in charge of"land issues" in the illegal Kherson government, would be tried. The investigation established that in June 2022, the accused took the position of the so-called "head of the land registration and contractual relations sector" in the occupation administration of Kherson. In this position, the man organized and planned the work of the unit, supervised the work of his subordinates.
