Three local residents are suspected of holding senior positions in the occupation authorities of Kherson.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, three residents of the region were notified in absentia of suspicion of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspects held senior positions in the illegal authority - the "Kherson City Territorial Community". The first one became the so-called "Deputy Head of the HCA for Social Policy", the second one - "Director of the Department of Social Policy", and the third one - "Head of the Department for Human Resources". In their pseudo-positions, the women performed the functions assigned to them by the occupation authorities of the region. They helped to promote the propaganda of the aggressor country among the local population.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region, with operational support provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in the region.
Earlier it was reported that a local resident was found guilty of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office for supporting the public prosecution. It is noted that, given her cooperation with the investigation, she was sentenced to three years in prison. She was also deprived of the right to hold positions in state and local government for a period of 10 years.
It was also reported that the Court of Appeal upheld the guilty verdict of the Lutsk City District Court of May 2, 2024, against one of the ideologues of the Russian Spring and organizer of pro-Russian riots and separatist movements in Kherson, Georgy Tambovtsev. In the decision of the Court of Appeal, he was found guilty of working for the occupiers as a deputy of one of the so-called "ministers" of Kherson region.
