The investigation established that during the occupation of Kherson, the defendants were employed in senior positions in the occupation administration of the city. In the spring of 2022, one of them became the so-called "Head of the Department of Legal Support of Activities", another headed the "Department of Financial Institutions of Socio-Cultural Relations and Social Sphere". The third defendant became the head of the "Department of Budget and Finance". In their positions, the defendants contributed to the legalization of the occupation regime in illegally created bodies, and made decisions in accordance with their powers.
The special pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that a local resident was found guilty of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) by the prosecutors of the Genichesk District Prosecutor's Office. The court sentenced her to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. She was also deprived of the right to hold positions or engage in activities related to the performance of organizational, administrative or administrative and economic functions for a period of 15 years.
Kherson police investigators also served a local resident with a notice of suspicion for organizing the educational process according to the standards of the aggressor country.
