Based on the SBU materials, three more pseudo-heads of "municipal districts" in Kherson region were suspected of collaboration.
This was reported by the press service of the agency.
The post says that, according to the investigation, the suspects voluntarily took part in illegal elections to the so-called "councils of deputies" in the temporarily occupied districts of Kherson region. Having received the "mandates", the offenders ran the "councils" in the Genichesk, Skadovsk and Velykolepetivka "municipal districts". While in their "positions", the defendants organized the work of the illegally created authorities, convened "meetings" and presided over them. They approved funding and budget, approved illegal regulations and other documentation and entrusted its implementation to structural "units". In addition, in order to form a positive image of the invaders' activities and the local population's trust in the "new" government, they reported on their "activities" in the propaganda media and on the websites of the occupation authorities of Kherson region.
SBU investigators served the offenders (in accordance with the crimes committed) a notice of suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration) and Part 1 of Art. 28, Part 5 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration committed by a group of persons without prior conspiracy) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offenders face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was conducted by the SBU officers in Kherson and Ivano-Frankivsk regions under the supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
