The "deputy head" of the occupation government, who represented the seized Kherson region at economic forums in Russia, has been served with a notice of suspicion.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Genichesk District Prosecutor's Offices, a resident of the region was served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in March 2023, the 68-year-old suspect voluntarily took the illegal position of "first deputy head of the Genichesk Military-Civilian Administration". In the summer of the same year, he became the so-called "Deputy Head of the Government of Kherson Region". In this position, the man represented the agriculture and fishing industry of Kherson region at specialized events held in Russia. Thus, he integrated them into the economic processes of the aggressor country. The suspect also participated in public events dedicated to Russian holidays. In particular, on behalf of the occupation authorities, he encouraged cultural workers in the occupied region.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that the investigation against the so-called "head" of the occupation ministry's department was completed. The investigation established that in 2022 the accused headed the so-called "Department of Labor and Social Policy" of the Kherson City District, which was part of the occupation "Ministry of Labor and Social Policy".

Also, in Kherson region, under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, two residents of the region were served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
