The activities of Novinsky's former Sevastopol quarry, the Balaklava Ore Mining Department, are being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation under articles on subversion, terrorism and treason.
This was reported by LIGA.net with reference to the court register.
The court materials state that law enforcement officers have reasonable grounds to believe that officials of the Balaklava Ore Mining Department in Sevastopol, together with the ultimate beneficial owner, probably contributed to the illegal registration of a Ukrainian company under the laws of the aggressor country in Crimea.
Balaklava Ore Mining is an enterprise for the extraction and processing of flux limestone based on the Balaklava deposit in Crimea, not far from Balaklava.
Investigators note that Novinsky became the owner of Balaklava Ore Mining in 2006, privatizing 93.83% of the shares. The following year, he bought back another 6.16% of the shares, thus obtaining more than 99.99% of the company's shares.
Vadym Novynskyi is a member of the Ukrainian parliament, founder of Smart-Holding, and a cleric of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate. He supports the actions and policies of the Russian Federation that undermine and threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as its stability and security.
In 2014, after Russia's illegal occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol, the shares of the Balaklava Regional Office were transferred to Kliko Company LLC (12.5%) and Cyprus-based Cagerol Holdings Limited (87.5%), founded by Novinsky's brother, Russian citizen Malkhasyan.
Earlier, the occupation authorities of Crimea published a list of objects owned by Ukrainians that the invaders plan to illegally nationalize. The list was supplemented by the properties of singer Jamala, former Prime Minister of Ukraine, former Minister of Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the family of former Member of Parliament Lidiya Kotelak , and "other Ukrainian neighbors of Zelensky in Livadia."
Thus, the Russian authorities intended to "nationalize" the property and other assets of legal entities, including the Yalta Film Studio, Bristol Hotel in Yalta, Platinum Bank, Kyivmiskbud Holding Company, and the Dolphin Therapy, Rehabilitation and Recreation Center in Alushta.
Prior to that, on the instructions of the Kremlin, the occupiers had to seize more than 950 land plots from their owners without prior redemption for the needs of the terrorist army. The occupation authorities justify their actions by martial law.
