Crimean political prisoner and religious activist Muslim Aliyev was sent to solitary confinement for 15 days for performing the obligatory five-time prayer for Muslims.
According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Aliyev wrote about this in a letter to his family.
"According to the man, during the prayer, which cannot be interrupted, the warden entered the cell. Because of this, Aliyev could not greet him. The administration recognized this as a violation and decided to send him to the punishment cell until December 27, 2024 ," the CCC said in a statement.
Muslim Aliyev and Emir-Usein Kuku, Vadim Siruk, Enver Bekirov, Arsen Dzhepparov and Refat Alimov are accused of participating in the organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in the Russian Federation. They are accused of "organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and participating in it". Later, they were accused of "forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power".
On November 12, 2019, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict against the defendants in the "case". Muslim Aliyev and Enver Bekirov were sentenced to 19 and 18 years in a strict regime colony, Emir-Usein Kuku and Vadim Siruk - to 12 years, Refat Alimov - to 8 years, Arsen Dzhepparov - to 7 years.
It is known that the occupiers in prisons are trying to break the Crimean residents. In the first 9 months of 2024, Russian security forces placed Crimean political prisoners in punishment cells, special blocks and solitary confinement at least 16 times. It is noted that, in particular, the following offenses were committed: Server Zekiryayev (3), Server Mustafayev (2), Teymur Abdullayev, Eskender Abdulganiyev (2), Ali Mamutov, Oleg Prykhodko, Seyran Saliyev, Serhiy Tsygipa, Edem Smailov, Marlen Asanov, Rustem Gugurik and Remzi Bekirov.
In total, since 2017, 10,018 violations of fundamental human rights have been recorded in the Russian-annexed Crimea, 6,730 of which were committed against members of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.
