Yesterday, on December 22, the Russian military damaged 8 private houses. As a result of Russian aggression, 3 people were killed and 1 was injured.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Military District Administration, Russian troops damaged a gas pipeline, a shop and private cars. The enemy fire and air strikes hit 28 towns and villages in the region: Kachkarivka, Beryslav, Bilozerka, Dudchany, Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Novoraysk, Burgunka, Vesele, Zmiivka, Zolota Balka, Kizomys, Republican, Novooleksiyivka, Novotyanka, Novooleksandrivka, Prydniprovske, Lvov, Olgivka, Poniativka, Monastyrske, Mykolaivka, Mykhailivka, Tokarivka, Tyahynyka, Ivanivka and the city of Kherson.
At noon, a resident of Beryslav was hit by a Russian UAV. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries. He died on the spot. The day before, on December 21, in the evening, in Dniprovsky district, the occupiers attacked a 49-year-old man with a drone. He also sustained fatal injuries. Later, it became known about another victim of an enemy strike in Dniprovsky district. The attack by a Russian FPV drone destroyed a residential building and started a fire. While clearing the rubble, rescuers found the body of a dead woman. She is currently being identified.
In general, the enemy does not stop shelling Kherson region. On December 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces thwarted the plans of the Russian occupiers to land sabotage and reconnaissance groups near Kherson in the right-bank part of Kherson region. On this day, Kherson suffered the largest shelling since 2022. The explosions did not stop from four in the morning. Russian troops fired from all types of weapons available to them, firing more than 1,000 shells. There is not a single neighborhood that was not affected.
Most of the strikes fell on residential areas. Critical and social infrastructure facilities were damaged. Rescuers extinguished more than a dozen fires. Medics, law enforcement and utility workers were on the scene. At the same time, the shelling did not stop. The massive shelling, as well as the unsuccessful attempt of the Russian military to cross to the right bank of the Dnipro, are accompanied by disinformation attempts.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, pro-Russian telegram channels are actively spreading fake messages about the alleged forced evacuation of Kherson residents. However, this information was untrue and aimed at creating panic among the population. Official sources assured that no decision on forced evacuation has been made yet. The evacuation procedure remains unchanged and is exclusively voluntary.
