Rescuers of Mykolaiv region eliminate consequences of massive enemy shelling

In Mykolaiv region, rescuers were extinguishing the consequences of a massive enemy attack. Due to the fall of ammunition fragments, areas in the open were on fire.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv region.
Fires broke out in Mykolaiv region as a result of the massive morning shelling by the enemy in Ukraine. The shelling targeted critical infrastructure facilities, and there are victims.
Fires broke out in Pervomaisk and Mykolaiv districts due to the fall of ammunition and its fragments. Mostly dry vegetation in open areas burned.
A total of 32 rescuers from the Mykolaiv Oblast State Emergency Service and 6 vehicles were engaged to extinguish the fires. The local fire brigades of Sofiyivka and Shyrokolanivka also joined the firefighting operations. All fires were quickly extinguished.
Recently, firefighters also saved residential buildings, outbuildings, cars and nature reserves in Mykolaiv region. On August 24 and on the night of August 25, fire and rescue units made 35 firefighting trips to eliminate the fires.
Thus, 8 fires occurred on the territory of private households, 25 - in the open, one - due to the hit of debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle as a result of hostilities, and one fire - on a vehicle.
Recently, rescuers in Kherson region extinguished eight fires, two of which were caused by enemy shelling. Thus, in the morning of August 22, the enemy fired on the city of Kherson. As a result of ammunition hits, a fire broke out at a facility in the central part of the city. Fire and rescue units, together with the local fire department, extinguished five fires in ecosystems with a total area of 7.24 hectares.
On August 19, near the village of Nova Dofinivka in Odesa Oblast, a fire engulfed dry vegetation, debris and shrubs over an area of 4.5 hectares. Inspectors calculated that the emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere caused damage worth almost UAH 10 million. The fire released 3,207 tons of carbon dioxide into the air.
