On the night of October 7, Russian occupation forces once again attacked southern Ukraine with Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones. However, the border guards of the Odesa detachment managed to "shoot down" the Iranian "bird" from the sky.

According to the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces, the mobile firing group of the Odesa detachment's border guards repelled the Russians in difficult nighttime conditions. However, the border guards managed to shoot down an enemy UAV approaching from the sea.

"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, the damaged kamikaze drone was shattered by heavy fire," the statement said.

In total, on the night of October 7, the enemy attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, an X-59 guided missile, a missile of an unspecified type from Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as attack UAVs (launch areas: Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Yeysk - Russian Federation). In total, the Air Force's radio engineering troops detected and tracked more than 80 air targets. The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of the air battle, two X-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles were confirmed downed in Kyiv region and 32 enemy strike UAVs in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava and Kharkiv regions. Several hits by enemy attack UAVs were recorded in the frontline Kharkiv region. One of the three "Daggers" hit near the Starokostiantyniv airfield in Khmelnytskyi region. In addition, 37 Russian drones were lost in different regions of Ukraine, presumably as a result of active countermeasures by the electronic warfare.
