Electricity distribution operator DTEK Odesa Power Grids has announced the introduction of unified stabilization outage schedules in Odesa region and other regions of Ukraine.
According to the company, the new schedules will start working from 1:00 a.m. on December 16.
According to the power company, while previously the approach to scheduling outages in different regions differed significantly in terms of the number of hours with and without electricity, now a unified approach to creating schedules across the country has been introduced, which is fixed by law.
What is changing:
- The outage schedule is divided into 30-minute intervals.
- Each stage is divided into two sub-stages: 1.1 and 1.2, 2.1 and 2.2. You can check which one you belong to on the DTEK Odesa Power Grids website.
- More hours with power - at least 3.5 hours between possible outages in the absence of grid failures.
The daily schedule provides for a clear schedule of the "Power on" (white) and "Power off" (dark gray) zones, which will be published on the distribution operator's social media and website. The forecast schedule for the week will show the time intervals when the power may be cut off and the hours with light.
"The unified national schedule will help to correct the situation when, with the same application of restrictions, some areas had more electricity and others less. However, it should be understood that the country's main substations that transmit electricity from one part of the country to another have been significantly damaged, so it is simply impossible to deliver electricity to some regions," DTEK Odesa Power Grids said.
Odesa region has returned to the schedule of stabilization blackouts after the emergency blackouts caused by the shelling of energy facilities on December 13.
On the morning of December 13, a series of powerful explosions occurred in Odesa. Russians attacked the city with missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force warned that a cruise missile was heading toward Odesa. A few minutes later, there was information about another group of cruise missiles heading toward the city.
Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukrainian energy sector that day. The strike was accompanied by a large-scale drone attack - almost 200 drones. This was one of the largest attacks during the war aimed at critical energy infrastructure.
