A fragment of one of the missiles shot down over the coast of Odesa region fell on a 71-year-old man and killed him.
This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper.
According to him, on the afternoon of October 29, Russians attacked the region with two X-31P guided missiles that failed to reach their targets. The missiles were launched by a Russian Su-30 fighter jet from the Black Sea.
The Kh-31 is a Russian medium-range tactical air-to-surface guided missile for fighter aircraft such as the MiG-29 and Su-27, but it can also be used from Su-24, Su-34, Su-35, and MiG-31 aircraft. There are anti-ship (Kh-31A) and anti-radar (Kh-31P) versions of the missiles.

On the morning of October 27, employees of Khadzhibey district administration inspected the homes of Odesa residents who suffered as a result of a rocket attack on Odesa. The blast wave damaged one educational institution and 21 households.
Following the air raid alert, an explosion occurred in Odesa on the evening of October 26, after which citizens began posting photos of a fire on social media, indicating that it was burning in the Zastava II area. The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Odesa Oblast confirmed that a large-scale fire was raging in the city. According to the SES, a warehouse was on fire.
On October 20, rescuers also extinguished the fire after an air raid alert. However, at the time, the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper, commented on the explosions and smoke plumes observed by Odesa residents, saying that a fire had started as a result of an evening missile attack on Odesa's port infrastructure, with no injuries or deaths. Also, due to the fall of rocket fragments in Odesa district, dry grass and an abandoned building caught fire, no one was injured. The fires were extinguished by rescuers.
After the missile attack, the Russians struck with drones, which were destroyed by air defense forces.
