A resident of Kherson, who headed the faculty of the seized university during the occupation, is suspected.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post states that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 59-year-old local resident was served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, during the occupation of the regional center, the woman voluntarily headed the Faculty of Zootechnology at the Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University, which was seized by the occupiers. In her pseudo-position, she ensured the admission campaign to the university, personally accepted applicants' documents as a member of the admission committee. She organized the educational process exclusively in Russian according to the standards of the Russian Federation, developing curricula and work programs based on documents of Russian educational institutions. The defendant also held academic councils, where she called on teachers to improve their skills in the institutions of the aggressor state.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that a resident of the Kherson region, who became the head of the occupation "council of deputies of the Genichesk municipal district", is suspected of collaboration. According to the investigation, in 2023, the 49-year-old suspect took part in illegal elections to the so-called "council of deputies of the Genichesk municipal district of Kherson region" from the United Russia political party.

Two women will also be tried for participating in the organization and conduct of the pseudo-referendum in Muzykivka. The investigation established that in September 2022, the defendants joined the so-called "precinct election commission" that was preparing a "referendum" on joining the Russian Federation in the village of Muzykivka. The women, accompanied by armed Russian soldiers, went to the homes of local residents, urging them to participate in the "vote."
