The court sentenced a resident of Chornobaivka who organized a base for Russian military equipment and helped to resettle Russians during the occupation of Kherson region. The man was found guilty of aiding the aggressor state

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, during the occupation of Chornobaivka, the convict worked as a "director" in a "utility company" created by the occupiers. In this pseudo-position, he fulfilled the tasks of the occupation authorities: he helped the Russian military with resettlement, organized earthworks to restrict the movement of local residents, supported the occupation and urged people to vote in a pseudo-referendum.

The man also helped the enemy with information about the area, in particular, provided data on infrastructure facilities and food storage. In addition, military equipment of the Russian army was based and repaired at his "communal" facilities.

The man's actions were classified as aiding the aggressor state. The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. He was also deprived of the right to hold senior positions in institutions and organizations of any form of ownership for 15 years.

The prosecutor's office emphasized that the convict is in custody until the sentence enters into force.

Meanwhile, the Russian henchman who headed one of the occupation institutions in Kherson region may be imprisoned for 12 years.

Earlier, the Security Service collected a large-scale evidence base on four high-ranking Russian clerics who spread the Kremlin regime in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine.

Also, a 38-year-old man who worked as the "first deputy" of the "detention center" illegally created by the occupiers during the occupation of Kherson was suspected of violating the laws and customs of war, committed in prior conspiracy with other unidentified persons. In October 2022, the man ensured the forced transfer of more than 1500 convicts to the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson region.
