The commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, has released videos made by Russian reconnaissance drones, which use Iskander missiles to destroy the positions of Ukrainian Petriot systems.
According to the general, one of the strikes was launched on July 6 and hit the target near the town of Yuzhne in Odesa region.
However, the enemy actually hit a model rather than an air defense battery.
"Of course, both we and the enemy suffered losses of equipment and people. But neither side speaks about it publicly. It is clear why! As an exception, to explain to the public that things are not so simple, I am demonstrating two recent enemy strikes with Iskander-M, filmed from Russian reconnaissance UAVs. Dolhyntseve airfield (Kryvyi Rih - 3.07) and Yuzhne area (Odesa region - 6.07) - the Air Force personnel successfully conducted passive defense measures! Thank you to everyone who helps with high-quality models of aircraft and air defense systems. The enemy has fewer "Iskanders", and more models will be delivered. Keep calm and united," the general wrote.
On July 6, residents of Odesa did hear an explosion, preceded by an air raid warning of a ballistic missile threat.
Earlier, on the evening of Thursday, July 4, the Russian army launched a missile attack on the civilian port infrastructure of Odesa region. The Odesa JFO reported that seven people who were injured in the missile attack on the port of Chornomorsk remain in hospitals.
On the night of June 26, invading Russian troops once again attacked Odesa with a ballistic missile that hit its target.
The civilian infrastructure of the Odesa region was damaged. In particular, an administrative building in the industrial sector was damaged. No people were injured.
According to the South Air Command, the enemy probably launched the Iskander-M from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
On the morning of June 24, the Russian occupation army also attacked Odesa once again with two cruise missiles, probably Iskander-K. There were two missiles and the air defense managed to shoot down one.
But the second one still reached the city. Three people were injured: A 19-year-old boy and two men aged 50 and 58. The wounded were hospitalized. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance.
