The Suvorov District Court of Odesa found the man guilty of evading military service during mobilization and sentenced him to three years in prison, replacing the real term with probation.
According to the court' s verdict, the probationary period is only one year shorter than the real one.
In May, the man received a call-up notice for mobilization and deployment to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but did not arrive at the appointed time to be sent to the Armed Forces. The defendant explained his actions by the fact that he could not leave his brother without outside care, due to the consequences of a stroke he had previously suffered. In this regard, he did not apply for a postponement of the mobilization call-up and could not provide documents to confirm the above circumstances due to their absence. He admitted his guilt.
In September, the Artsyz district court of Odesa region found a local resident guilty of evading military service during mobilization and sentenced him to three years in prison.
The judges took into account that the man had fully admitted his guilt and imposed a personal commitment as a preventive measure, which remained in place until the verdict came into force.
In April, the Kominternivsky District Court of Odesa Oblast, located in the city of Dobroslav, sentenced a local resident to a fine of 6,800 hryvnias for evading military registration. The man also passed the commission, received a conclusion, but did not submit it to the territorial center for recruitment and social support.
In the end, the court decided that the fine would contribute to educating the person in the spirit of compliance with the laws of Ukraine, i.e., forming a habit of law-abiding behavior and not wanting to repeat actions that result in the imposition of these restrictions in the future.
